Document: Warrant Alleging Larceny in Mastiff Scheme

Woman accused of not delivering a $1,200 Mastiff puppy to a prospective buyer appears in court.

A Naugatuck woman accused of stiffing a buyer out of the purchase of a Mastiff puppy was due in Waterbury Superior Court Wednesday.

Angelina Fish is facing one count of fourth-degree larceny after a New York woman reported to Naugatuck police on June 10 that she sent two $600 payments to Fish in exchange for a Mastiff puppy. Fish was .

Fish is also being investigated for , Naugatuck Capt. James Scully said. The Department of Consumer Protection is assisting Naugatuck police in the investigation.

According to the warrant, the victim and Fish, referred to as "Angie," exchanged e-mails regarding the purchase. The victim said she was concerned about sending money through PayPal for the puppy, however she went ahead with it because Fish said her list for prospective buyers seeking a Mastiff puppy was "filling up," the warrant stated.

After e-mail exchanges, the victim came to Fish's home on Mulberry Street on May 16 to purchase the puppy, court documents said. Fish answered the door at the trailer and told the victim the puppies were sick and had to be put to sleep, the warrant stated.

"She did sign a note stating that she would refuns us the full $1,200 on June 1, 2011, but as of today, June 9, 2011, we have not received any money," the victim told police.
