Naugatuck Police Blotter: Dec. 3-5
The following information was provided by the public information officer at the Naugatuck Police Department. They are allegations until proven otherwise in a court of law.
CARRYING A FIREARM WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Joseph Sterling, 28, 191 Saint John St., New Haven, was charged with driving under the influence, a failure to drive in the proper lane and carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol after police pulled him over on Dec. 4. Police said Sterling had a firearm in the center console of his car. He was released on a $1,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 22.
DUI
Mark Spinelli, 22, 14 University Drive, Port Jefferson Station, N.Y., was charged with driving under the influence on Dec. 2. According to police, Spinelli was wanted on warrant for a motor vehicle accident on Prospect Street from May 14. He was located after police conducted a separate motor vehicle investigation on Dec. 2. Spinelli was released on a $1,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 14.
ASSAULT
Stephen Sorriero, 25, LKA South Main Street, Beacon Falls, was charged with third-degree assault and a breach of peace on Dec. 3 after police investigated a motor vehicle accident on Old Fire House Road. Police said Sorriero got into a fight at 11 Bar And Grille on Rubber Avenue on Aug. 15 when he kicked another patron who had been knocked down to the floor during an argument. He was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 7.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
Matthew Cusick, 42, 21 Peck Road, Bethany, was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and a breach of peace on Dec. 4 after he turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. Cusick is accused of walking into Slainte’s Bar on Nov. 5 and refusing to leave after being instructed to by an employee, police said. Cusick was released on a $3,500 court-set cash bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 14.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
Jennifer Bolton, 18, 729 High St., Naugatuck, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and a breach of peace on Dec. 2 after she turned herself in an active arrest warrant after police responded to a complaint on Nov. 13. Bolton was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 14.
DUI
Ashley Caldwell, 19, 99 Finch Road, Wolcott, was charged with driving under the influence on Dec. 2 after police responded to Meadow Street for a suspicious motor vehicle complaint. Caldwell was released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 8.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
Robert Fenwick, 39, 39 Homestead Ave., Naugatuck, was charged with first-degree criminal mischief and a breach of peace on Dec. 2 after police responded to a domestic disturbance call. Fenwick is accused of breaking the rear view mirror and damaging the windshield and center dashboard of a car during an argument, police said. He was held on a $2,000 surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 5.
DUI
Christopher Petronis, 32, 19 Burgess Road, Morris, was charged with driving under the influence after police said he struck a parked vehicle outside Slainte’s Bar on New Haven Road on Dec. 3. Petronis was released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 15.
DUI
Kellie Muccino, 40, 51 Thistle Down Lane, Naugatuck, was charged with driving under the influence and a failure to drive upon the right after police pulled her over on May Street on Dec. 4. Muccino was released on a $1,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 22.
VIOLATION OF A PROTECTIVE ORDER
David Regalado, 20, 14 Visconti Drive, was charged with a violation of protective order on Dec. 4 after police said he was a the home of a victim when he wasn’t supposed to be. Regalado was released on a $2,500 surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 5.
BREACH OF PEACE
Robert Cyr, 61, 263 Canterbury Road, Plainfield, was charged with a breach of peace on Dec. 4 after police responded to 933 Rubber Ave. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Cyr was released on a $500 non-surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 5.
VIOLATION OF A PROTECTIVE ORDER
Shawn Chandler, 24, 505 North Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged with a criminal violation of a protective order on Dec. 4 after police investigated a disturbance. Chandler was held on a $50,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 5.
