Naugatuck's Abe Lincoln to Visit Area Libraries

Borough resident Lewis Dube will be hosting "An Evening with Abraham Lincoln" at libraries in Waterbury and Naugatuck.

Editor's Note: The following posting is a press release.

The Silas Bronson Library and The Howard Whittemore Library will present “An Evening with Abraham Lincoln” on Thursday Feb 16 at 6:30 p.m., and Tuesday, Feb 21 at 6:30 p.m. respectively.

An Evening with Abraham Lincoln begins with a medley of Civil War era songs performed by Rosanne Shea, arranged and accompanied by musical Director Tom Cruciani.

President Lincoln interweaves keen personal and political insight into a beguiling narrative of events leading to the great internecine conflict that ultimately redefined our homeland into the indivisible nation it is today. A nation “of the people — by the people — for the people.”

This is a dramatic presentation in which you see behind the scenes at the Whitehouse, laugh at some of his countrified humor, witness public speeches as well as listen in as he composes personal letters and historic proclamations. Throughout the evening music is interwoven into the fabric of the program, accompanying the audience’s sensitivities to the events unfolding before them.

Mary Lincoln makes a cameo appearance in the tragic final scene at Ford's Theater. Carol Deleppo will Portray the First Lady in the Feb 16th appearance and Evelyn Rinaldi will portray the First Lady in the Feb 21st appearance.

“You entertained and enthralled the audience” .  .  .  .  .  .  George Bush
