Naugatuck Valley Business Leaders, Officials, "Locked-Up" For the Day

A local branch of the Muscular Dystrophy Association held a fund raiser in which business owners were taken to a restaurant and had to call friends to get "bailed out." All of the money contributed went to the nonprofit effort.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) held a lock-up event on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at The Original Antonio’s restaurant in Ansonia.

Community business leaders were picked up at their place of business and brought to Antonio’s by several transportation sponsors supporting the event. Also, some local political leaders and municipal staffers joined in the lock-up effort, including Oxford First Selectman George Temple.

Upon arriving at “jail” to serve their time, the “jailbirds” were served complimentary “jail” food, while they each attempted to raise their bail money for MDA. The “jailbirds” spent their time at the facility calling friends and family to bail them out of the mock MDA “jail.”
