PHOTOS: A World Record Attempt in Naugatuck

A 60-hour charity kickball game took off Friday in Linden Park, and will continue until noon on Sunday.

After months of preparation, and nearly $40,000 raised for child cancer research, two teams of kickball and enthusiasts gathered at Linden Park on Friday for the start of a three-day marathon game.

The teams are named "Team Juliana" and "Team Sammy," both in honor of two young area cancer survivors. The goal is to break the record set by the Guinness Book of World Records for "longest kickball game."

The kickball game will go until noon on Sunday, with the players kicking it all day and night in the Naugatuck park. There will be vendors and activities during the event and the public is a welcome to come down and watch.
