Naugatuck Police Blotter: Dec. 9-12
The following information was provided by the public information officer at the Naugatuck Police Department. They are allegations until proven otherwise in a court of law.
ALLEGED CAR KICKING LEADS TO ARREST
Nina Ciampi, 33, 250 Osborn Road, Naugatuck, was charged with a breach of peace on Dec. 9 after police picked her up on warrant for a domestic disturbance between a husband and wife on Oct. 15. Police accused Ciampi with kicking the victim’s car, causing damage. She was released on a promise to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 12.
DUI CHARGE ON RUBBER AVENUE
William Hoppe, 36, 9 Dogwood Drive, Prospect, was charged with driving under the influence and a failure to drive upon the right after police stopped him on Rubber Avenue on Dec. 10. Police determined Hoppe was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was released on a $1,500 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court Dec. 22.
MAN CHARGED WITH DRUG PARAPHERNALIA POSSESSION
Matthew Digiacomo, 29, 13 Willowsprings, New Milford, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to Big Y for a shoplifting complaint on Dec. 10. During the investigation, police said they found drug paraphernalia on Digiacomo. He was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 21.
WOMAN CHARGED WITH STEALING BABY FORMULA
Nicole Naishtut, 25, 275 Bennetts Farm, Ridgefield, was charged with sixth-degree larceny, a breach of peace and simple trespass after police responded to Big Y for a report of a shoplifting complaint. Naishtut was accused of stealing $132.24 worth of Enfamil. She was also wanted on three other active arrest warrants — for one count of first-degree failure to appear and two counts of second-degree failure to appear — out of Danbury Superior Court, police said. Naishtut was held on a total $10,000 court-set surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 12.
PD: MAN SKIPS COURT, GETS BROUGHT IN BY BONDSMAN
Ricky Wells, 25, was charged with two counts of second-degree failure to appear on Dec. 10 after being escorted to the Naugatuck Police Department by Anthony Bail Bonds Service on an active arrest warrant. Wells was released on a total $490 surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court that day.
MAN ACCUSED OF CRASHING INTO POLICE CRUISER WHILE DUI
Leif Hansen Jr., 54, 12 Strong Town Road, Southbury, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and a failure to drive at a reasonable distance after police said he struck the rear end of a police patrol vehicle at the intersection with Church and Meadow streets on Dec. 12. He was released on a total $3,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 22.
DUI CHARGE ON CHURCH STREET
Timothy Nolan, 47, 175 Cherry St., Naugatuck, was charged with driving under the influence, a failure to drive in the proper lane and driving under suspension after police pulled him over on Cherry Street following a motor vehicle stop on Dec. 11 at 11:26 p.m. Nolan was released on a $2,500 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 22.
TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO MARIJUANA ARREST
Angela Lamas, 34, 116 Woodbine St., Naugatuck, was charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession within a school zone and possession of drug paraphernalia after police stopped Lamas on the on-ramp to Route 8 north on Dec. 12 at 1:24 a.m. Lamas was released on a $5,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 21.
