A Danbury woman is facing credit card theft charges after police said she was involved in making fraudulent transactions on a friend’s debit card.

Norma Dulford, 52, of 1 Bells Place, was taken into custody on Feb. 4 on a warrant charging her with credit card theft by transfer and receiving money or goods by illegal use of a card.

According to Naugatuck police, Dulford and two other women made 21 fraudulent transactions at various stores in the Naugatuck and Waterbury area, such as gas stations, markets, pharmacies and Toys R’ Us. In total, the amount of the purchases equaled $1,436.30. All of this was done without the consent of the victim, polie said.

The owner of the debit card made a larceny complaint at the Naugatuck Police Department on June 20, 2009, accusing Dulford and four other women.

Lt. Robert Harrison, Naugatuck police spokesman, said two of the women in question have been previously arrested but their charges have since been dismissed in court. A four suspect, borough resident Christine Radcliffe, pleaded guilty to a charge of sixth-degree larceny last year.

Harrison said there is still one other suspect that is still at large.

“We’ve had a difficult time locating all the suspects,” Harrison said. “The arrests span from April 2010 to now.”
