We went to see "America, Imagine the World Without Her" Wednesday. It was both inspiringRead Morea nd highly educational, with beautiful cinematography of our national parks, monuments and stunning scenes from "sea to shining sea." From the unique perspective of a legal immigrant and citizen, Dinesh D'Souza, one can learn much as well as become more aware of and grateful for the blessings of being an American.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------We were also educated as to some of the threats to our Nation, and our Liberties, from sources within our boundaries. Those threats include people such as Bill Ayers, the followers of Saul Alinsky (including Obama and Hillary), and the specious and incomplete 'history' of our nation, taught in our public schools, from the textbook by Communist Howard Zinn.

D'Souza's "2016: Obama’s America" is now the world’s #2 top grossingRead Moredocumenta ry of all time, for good reason--after the devastation wreaked upon our Nation by the disastrous current occupant of the WH.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------D'Souza's "America: Imagine the World Without Her" has gross Box Office receipts of over 4 Million $$ in the first 3 DAYS, just through Friday. It should be seen by all Americans, especially those who want truth, and those who care about all of our futures--around the world, not just here in the U.S.!

One character in the movie is Alexis de Tocqueville, who brilliantly assessed and describedRead MoreAmerican Exceptionalism. Here are a few of his best quotes:--------------------------------------------------------"America is great because she is good. If America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.”-----------------------------------“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.”----------------------------------------------------------------------------------“Americans are so enamored of equality, they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.”

I find the aabove comment to be overtly political. I have another perspective. My daughter is aRead Moreve teran who is receiving necessary and excellent care at the West Haven VA. She is treated promptly, professionally and courteously. We are so grateful to have this medical help for her. This is not a political matter, but one of mismanagement at some VA hospitals.... not all.

I was their bookkeeper in the late 80's. They worked hard and we're not only caring but generous. Read MoreWe donated to the food bank, donated toys at Christmas, gave food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas. They went way beyond the confines of the budget alloyed to run the agency. Often giving out of their own pockets. Change isn't always a good thing.

Brutus, I agree on many items you listed except bankruptcy. We need change at the state andRead Morefederal level. Local governments are constrained by state and federal laws and regulations. If you voted for Hartley, Crisco, Malloy, Blumenthal, Murphy, DeLauro, or Obama than you have no right to complain about the local impact of their policies on your wallet.

I'm a teacher, my wife is a nurse. We have two children and a very modest (165K) home, which weRead Morelove . However, at 48 mils and counting, we can't afford to stay here. I guess teachers and nurses are not the kind of citizens that Naugatuck is looking to draw in. WHO their target is... I have no idea.

DeLauro is a Crony Capitalist Career Politician hypocrite, who needs to be replaced, for the goodRead Moreof ALL of us, and the Survival of our formerly great Nation!!!------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A math teacher, James Brown, looks like a wonderful replacement for this self-serving Career Politician! ....as I knew you would, Chuck. This entire thread was going about just fine with no negativityRead Moreunt il you showed up and had to throw in your unproductive two cents worth. The thing is, I truly don't think you understand just how sour and negative you really are, and when anyone points it out to you you, in effect, go tell them to f*** off. So sad for you. Try to stop yourself before you write the very next thing on any forum and ask yourself: " Am I going to write anything productive and enlightening, or am I going to produce and publish something containing either hatred, venom, or drivel ? And if you are, stop and consider your reader. They truly don't care; speaking for myself, I don't care. Try to have a good day. And don't reply to this post - as much as you want to. Just stop. Now.
