Connecticut POPS! will hold an open rehearsal for prospective new members on Tues., Jan. 29 from 7:15-9:15 pm in the Mainstage Theater at Naugatuck Valley Community College (NVCC) on Chase Parkway in Waterbury.

Connecticut POPS! has been organized by a group of local musicians and educators who range from amateur to professional players. The group is unique in that it is open to adult community members with intermediate to advanced playing ability as well as college and high school students who wish to register through the college for credit. The band will play a traditional pops repertoire that has appeal to a wide range of audiences and will perform winter and spring concerts at NVCC as well as at Waterbury’s Palace Theatre in May.

Under the direction of Dr. Richard Gard, professor of music at NVCC and Yale School of Music, the group will be in residence at NVCC in Waterbury and have use of the auditorium, equipment and music library for rehearsals and performances.
