Naugatuck Education Foundation Elects Two New Board Members

At the recent Naugatuck Education Foundation annual meeting, Lori Czajkowski and Anna Merrill, both of Naugatuck, were elected to the Board of Directors for a three year term.

Czajkowski is the Healthy Initiatives Director and Residence Coordinator at the Naugatuck YMCA.  She is also an exercise coordinator and avid runner.  She has volunteered her time for many local racing programs in town and will sit on the Ion Bank St. Patrick’s Day Road Race committee.  Additionally, she has two sons in the Naugatuck school system.

Merrill is a clerk at Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan and attends Naugatuck Valley Community College, where she is studying towards a degree in early childhood education.  She is also involved with Rotary International in their Youth Exchange Program and has worked in the Interact and New Generations programs as well.

“We’re delighted to add both Lori and Anna to our board.  Lori’s experience with road races will be invaluable for us and her position at the YMCA will help us improve our partnership efforts with the organization.  Anna is a recent Naugatuck High School graduate and we look forward to having her help foster a stronger relationship between the faculty and alumni of the Naugatuck schools” said Matt Fortney, NEF Chairman.

The Naugatuck Education Foundation (NEF), in partnership with the community, encourages and supports excellence in education by providing funding for innovative and creative learning opportunities for students.  More information can be found at our website www.naugatuckeducationfoundation.org.
