Naugatuck P.O. Ian Kosky and his K-9 partner, Vane, competed in Saturday's 22nd Annual K-9 Olympics held at the UCONN Depot Campus. Kosky and Vane won 2nd Place Overall in the day-long event. Areas of competition
included, but were not limited to, obedience, obstacles, building search, marksmanship,
and an apprehension K-9 drill. Money raised through the sales of shirts, food, and donations, is returned to local charities. This year the money
raised will go to organizations like Hometown Foundation (SPECIAL OLYMPICS), "CHIPS" Program, Shriners Children's Burn Centers and other
"Police related" charities.
This is Kosky's and Vane's 3rd competition. Though this year's pictures and video have yet to be posted, you can see images and video from the 2012 competition at this site: http://www.police.uconn.edu/K9/index.html
Well Done, Officer Kosky and K-9 Vane. Your community, family and friends are proud of you.
