"Understanding Depression and Anxiety" Workshop Rescheduled to Feb. 20

Due to snow storm, Sacred Heart Church Pastoral Care Committee has rescheduled the workshop on “Understanding Depression and Anxiety” to Thursday, February 20, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church located at 910 Main Street South in Southbury.

Workshop presenter will be Michelle Slivinsky, M.A. of the University of Connecticut Health Center. Her presentation will cover myths vs. facts about depression, and the stigma that often prevents people from getting the help they need for this very common and treatable problem. Ms. Slivinsky will help participants recognize the signs and symptoms of depression and how they differ in children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Tips for relieving depression and anxiety will be shared, with time for questions and answers. A list of books, websites and other resources will be made available to participants.

This workshop is open to the public and reservations are helpful but walk-ins welcome. To pre-register, contact Lynn Tidgwell at 203-217-0025 or email to sacredheartpc2@gmail.com. For more information on Sacred Heart Church, visit www.sacredheartchurch.info
