Hochsprung, 47, a Naugatuck native who was living in Woodbury, reportedly tried to take down shooter Adam Lanza during the horrific mass shooting on Dec. 14. She was shot and killed, along with five other staff members and 20 children.

Hochsprung's two adult daughters have set up a scholarship fund in her memory. The scholarship will be given annually to a Naugatuck High School senior who plans to pursue a career in education.
