Girl Who Was Missing is Found Safe

Naugatuck girl is safe.

A 16-year-old girl who had been missing for more than 30 hours has been located and is safe.

Megan Darrah was found staying with friends on Spring Street in Naugatuck near the Naugatuck Police Department, says her mother, Kelly Darrah.

Kelly Darrah was thankful to people who helped look for her daughter.

Megan Darrah had gone missing around noon on Wednesday from her home on Grove Street after she left following a disagreement with her mother.

Her mother called police after she didn't come home Wednesday night and contacted local media on Thursday. She posted this announcement seeking information about her daughter to Naugatuck Patch and then pleaded for her daughter to come home during an interview.

Kelly Darrah said her daughter is safe but wouldn't elaborate on what she had been doing since she left home.

Naugatuck Police Lt. Bryan Cammarata, the department's spokesman, said in a news release: "The friend advised officers that Megan had contacted her asking if she could stay for the night and did not realize she was missing until she saw her on the news. On behalf of the Naugatuck Police Department, I would like to thank the media for their immediate assistance in getting the word out regarding this missing juvenile."
