The Alumni Association will honor Dorothy Knowles and Burgess Robert Burns during a brief ceremony at 7 p.m. Monday, July 2, at the high school’s Veterans’ Field. The association will dedicate a flag in honor of the two distinguished alums.
Knowles, a previous NHS Alumni Association honoree, will be acknowledged for her 44 years of marching in Naugatuck's annual Memorial Day parade, while Burns will be feted for serving as a grand marshal of this year’s parade.
The association will place a new flag at a veteran’s monument at the field during the ceremony. Attendees are advised that they should bring a lawn chair if they want to sit during the ceremony.
