Naugatuck Fireworks Postponed Until Sunday

Weather concerns led town officials to postpone the popular display.

Due to weather concerns, the Naugatuck Park and Recreation Department has changed the date of this years Fireworks Event from July 3 to Sunday July 6. 

The event will take place on Old Firehouse Road and admission is free. The event will begin at 6:00 PM and the fireworks show will start at 9:15 PM. Fireworks this year will be set 300 feet higher which will allow for best viewing from a distance.

The public is urged to utilize the many excellent viewing locations around town including the downtown and Old Firehouse locations, however Rotary Field, Hotchkiss Street and the Salem Bridge will be off limits to spectators.

Motorists should note that Old Firehouse Road will be closed to traffic at 4:00 PM on Sunday July 6th and that there will be limited parking in the General DataComm parking lot located at 6 Rubber Ave.. Vehicles using that location should enter from the south at the Rubber Ave. entrance or the north entrance near Nardelis Grinder Shoppe. Parking will also be available at Parcel C on Maple Street.

There will be no parking or spectators allowed on the Salem Bridge (Route 63) or the Maple Street Bridge (Whittemore Bridge).

The public is reminded that NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OF ANY KIND are allowed on Borough or State Property.
