Naugatuck Man Who Died In Work Accident is ID'd

Fransisco DosSantos was 59 years old.

A 59-year-old Naugatuck man who died after being hit by a payloader at the O&G Industries plant in Stamford on Tuesday has been identified as Fransisco DosSantos.

The victim, whose name was being withheld pending family notification, was a nine-year veteran of the Canal Street plant.

The accident occurred at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday when a Caterpillar front-end loader operating within the yard of O&G Industries struck the worker, who was declared deceased upon police arrival, police said.

The operator of the loader was a 64-year-old Litchfield man who has been employed at O&G Industries for 19 years.

Stamford Police were joined in the investigation by representatives from the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner who both sent representative to the scene.
