Naugatuck Chamber to Host Legislative Breakfast March 13

The Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce, an affiliate of the Waterbury Regional Chamber, will host their 2014 Legislative Breakfast on Thursday, March 13 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at Jesse Camille’s Restaurant at 615 North Church Street in Naugatuck. Invited participating Legislators are State Senators Joseph Crisco and Joan Hartley, and Area Representatives Theresa Conroy, David Labriola and Rosa Rebimbas. Breakfast and networking will be offered from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. followed by comments by invited Legislators from 8:30 to 9:00, and a question and answer period from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m.

“This is an annual opportunity,” commented Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce Chairwoman Yvette Wilmot of Sarracco Mechanical Services, Inc., “for our members to discuss one-to-one with our State Legislators such importance concerns as health care, workforce development, energy costs containment, infrastructure funding, taxes, and brownfields remediation.”

Top priority issues to be discussed will include the State of Connecticut’s fiscal predictability re: spending and taxation; continued job creation investments into the important manufacturing arena; labor cost issues; local area and regional needs that require state and federal support. Of particular interest will be the initiatives to recognize the leading role and high value of the manufacturing arena for the Naugatuck region; the Waterbury Naugatuck River Greenway project; the widening of 1-84 and its impact on area businesses.

Gold sponsors of the March 13 Legislative Breakfast are Glendale Center in Naugatuck, a Genesis HealthCare facility, and Ion Bank.  

Costs for the breakfast are $35 for members of the Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce and the Waterbury Regional Chamber, and $400 for tables of ten with priority seating and company signage at the breakfast event.
