In this time of turmoil that has so greatly affected us, it is impossible to find any words that can adequately comfort anyone because of our loss but I'm hoping that something I can say some day on this blog will reach some one in need to help them realize there is help always. As we ask "where is God in all this?", we don't have to look very far. The motto of my church in the center of our town is "God Is Still Speaking" and so it says above one the doors to our building "A House of Prayer for All People". You don't have to be religious to find God. Because He is God, He has found you whether you feel His presence or not, believe in Him or not. He has several houses in our town, including the houses of our families. Most of all we must start to find ways to heal each other and believe it or not, He is still here to help, and He is more real than any thing we can see.
But on to the other reason for my post. Something extremely special is happening again Sunday among the many extremely special ways we reach out to heal each other. Sunday night at 7 is our Longest Night Service for any one to attend. You will find comfort during that service whether you are a church member or not. It is our most beautiful service of the year, and it is designed especially for whoever is in need. If you need a home where you will always find the peace I have found, this service can be like lifting heavy weight off your shoulders. I urge you to set aside some time to be with friends at that time.
Then we come to Christmas Eve. We welcome anyone to join us for two services. The first is at 5:30 and the second at 11:00. If you need to find peace this weekend above all others, join us on this journey.
