First Naugatuck Residents Begin to Lose Power

CL&P reports only three without power, but several are saying on Naugatuck Patch's Facebook page that their juice has gone out.

We knew it was only a matter of time before power started going out in Naugatuck. It appears that time has come.

Several people have posted comments on Naugatuck Patch's Facebook page saying that they are without power; most of them are on the west side of Naugatuck near Millville Avenue, Hillside Avenue and Hoadley Street.

Connecticut Light & Power reports just three of its 14,336 Naugatuck customers are without power as of 2:46 p.m., but it is believed there are many more outages than that. CL&P is constantly updating its site. Currently, 38,546 CL&P customers in the state are without power.

The utility says it has workers out trying to restore power, but getting those crews up in cherry pickers is going to be difficult due to strong wind gusts.

Click here to follow the power outages on CL&P's website.

Naugatuck Patch will continue to bring you more updates about the storm.
