The second-annual “Girls Night Out” will be held from 6-9 p.m. on April 5 at Naugatuck Congregational Church at 9 Division St.. It will raise money for the Dawn (Lafferty) Hochsprung Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The event, which is $10 per person, will include food tastings, door prizes, vendors and more.
“Come enjoy the evening, do some shopping, meet friends – it’s a simple, special, spectacular night with lots of sunflowers everywhere,” said Linda “Gigi” Ramos, who added that people get a free shopping bag, who is helping with the event.
The event is hosted by Tender Years Preschool. People can email Ramos at lsrgigi3@aol.com for tickets.
The Hochsprung Scholarship honors the memory of Dawn (Lafferty) Hochsprung, who died while trying to protect students at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dec. 14. She was the principal of the school. The scholarship will be given annually to a Naugatuck High School student who wants to pursuse a career in education.
Ramos said that people can buy tickets even if they cannot make the event to support the scholarship fund.
“Invite your friends and come enjoy the evening,” Ramos said.
