Help Hamden Win $100,000 For Its Public Schools

Naugatuck may not have made it to the finals in Patch's Deck the House Contest, but we can show some Connecticut pride and vote for Hamden!

Leshea Schaivone's house in Hamden has been chosen as one of the 24 national finalists in our Deck the House contest.

We had tons of national entries in this year’s Deck the House contest and in our quest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in the country, we’ve seen everything from a life-size Santa to holiday lights so bright they could blind the neighbors.

We loved seeing everyone’s holiday spirit, but Deck the House isn’t over yet. We’re still looking for the one home so spectacularly decorated that it could be the national grand prize winner of our contest — and it could be a home from Hamden.

Until Dec. 27, vote in our contest to help this entry win $100,000 for Hamden's Public Schools. Tell all your friends on Facebook and Twitter, get the PTA involved — just get as many people as you can to cast a vote for Leshea's house to put Hamden over the top!

All you have to do is visit this page to browse a gallery of the finalists and cast your vote. On Dec. 28, we’ll announce the grand prize winner of our Deck the House contest.

Last year a house in California won the grand prize. This year, let's show some Connecticut and Northeast pride and help Hamden win!

I wholeheartedly agree with Eric. I am thinking of taking my account to a different bank in protest.Read More (NAUGATUCK Savings & Loan perhaps) May sound silly to some, but in my opinion, changing the name of such an historic institution to me is blasphemous, not to mention sounding stupid. ION indeed!
