Naugatuck Trash Collection to Resume Tuesday

All trash and recycling days will be pushed back one day.

Naugatuck Mayor Bob Mezzo posted the following storm update to his blog and sent this message out via a CodeRed emergency notification. Sign up for CodeRed messages here:

Naugatuck Public Works will resume regular trash and recycling collection on Tuesday morning beginning at 9 a.m. All trash and recycling days will be pushed-back one day. Therefore Monday’s regular collection will be collected on Tuesday; Tuesday’s collection on Wednesday; and so forth for the rest of the week. We are asking that residents who are scheduled for collection tomorrow place their containers curbside in the morning rather than tonight, as wind speeds should decrease overnight.

Please feel free to contact the Department of Public Works with any questions 203-720-7071 until 8 p.m. Monday; and between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. tomorrow.

Residents are urged to remain in their current location this evening during the height of Storm Sandy. Any decisions about the need for overnight sheltering for tomorrow will be made in the morning.
