14 CT Towns That Get Out the Vote (And 14 That Don't)

Counting down the towns with the highest and lowest average voter turnout.

Continuing our quest to name the most patriotic town in Connecticut by Independence Day, we’re parsing the numbers behind the most patriotic thing any American can do: voting.

This week, Patch is looking at voter turnout throughout Connecticut over the last five November elections, from 2009-2013. This span includes several municipal elections for many towns, as well as a presidential and gubernatorial election, known to bring out the voters.

(Data from verified election results maintained by the Connecticut Secretary of the State.)

The lists above and below show the towns with the highest and lowest voter turnout, respectively, averaged over the last 5 years.

Get the voter turnout for every town in the state, as well as the average number of registered voters per capita on this interactive map.

The figures on voter turnout and total registered voters will be crunched along with last week’s break down of the number of veterans per capita and more metrics to come to determine which Connecticut town gets recognized as Most Patriotic.
