2003 to present Deputy Mayor Borough of Naugatuck, Naugatuck, CT

Elected position earned (by receiving the most votes) in May 2003, May 2005, May 2007, May 2009 and May 2011 elections.  Responsibilities include, in the Mayor’s absence, to act in the Mayor’s stead to ensure smooth operation of the Borough’s business, presiding over meetings and Borough representation at various venues etc.. Regular responsibilities include but are not limited to: management and responsibility for a budget in excess of $100 million dollars, extensive constituent contact; regular contact, advocating and assistance to Liaison groups; meetings; research; problem solving and mediating.  Achievements include: Instituting the “Welcome to Naugatuck” sign project, writing and obtaining a $39,000 grant for remodeling/upgrade of Naugatuck Senior Center, writing and obtaining $1,000 grant for new tables at Naugatuck Senior Center, founding and launching the Naugatuck TRIAD Program, Resurrecting the Business Merchants Association and guiding organization in creating a Board of Officers to ensure growth and success, Spearheaded cooperative effort between Land Use and I.T. Departments that resulted in a new computer system offering higher efficiency at no cost to taxpayers, Writing and establishment of Town wide Blight Ordinance.
