Volunteer at the Gunntown Passive Park & Nature Preserve

The Gunntown Passive Park & Nature Preserve is Naugatuck's  first. Passive means no hard surfaces. This criteria generates the kind of activities appropriate for this beautiful land. Nature walks, snowshoeing, prose and poetry writing, wildlife photography are just a sample.

It is also a nature preserve. For example the Audubon Christmas Bird Count is done there every year in Naugatuck.

Volunteers are needed to be Gunntown Stewards. Volunteers walk the land at a minimum once per month. They help walkers on the trails and report any problems to the Park Department. Contact Kim Eyre, Naugatuck Recreation Director, keyre@naugatuck-ct.gov
