Get Ready For Naugatuck's Fourth of July Celebration

Event will actually be held on July 3; it won't be held at the high school due to renovations.

This year’s Independence Day celebration will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, on Maple Street and will include D.J., food, clowns, magicians and face painting. Admission is free. 

The evening will culminate with a giant fireworks display at dark (approx. 9:15 p.m.) A rain date scheduled for is Friday, July 5.

This year’s fireworks are being lit from Rotary Field. There are many excellent viewing locations in town. Fireworks can be seen from the downtown area, including Maple St. Bridge. Fireworks’ height will be 300 feet and higher, allowing for the best viewing from a distance.

The public is also invited to walk to Breen Field North on Hotchkiss St to view the fireworks. Breen Field North will open for viewing at 8pm. Handicapped parking only will be available at Breen Field North parking lot. Lot will open at 8 p.m.

There will be limited parking available in the General DataComm. lot at 6 Rubber Ave. entering from Maple Street by Nardelli’s or from Firehouse Rroad. No parking will be permitted on Maple Street and Water Street (to Cedar Street). Water St. will remain open for thru traffic until 8 p.m.

There will be no parking on Route 63, Salem Bridge. Sidewalk standing only will be permitted. No chairs or coolers are permitted on bridge sidewalk.

Maple Street Bridge and Water Street will close at 8pm. Please use alternate route over Rte 63(Salem) bridge after 8 p.m.

No alcohol of any kind is permitted on Borough and State property.

Keep the Fireworks Celebration a clean event; use the trash and recycling containers that are available.

Please consider becoming major sponsor of the 4th of July Celebration with a contribution of $250 or more. The names of major sponsors will be displayed during the festivities and recognized in the local news media.
