Hello Again - The Dave Matthews Band takes Hartford

The Dave Matthews Band goes all in for Connecticut DMB fans.

On Thirty Three separate occasions the Dave Matthews Band has graced the stage of Hartford Connecticut’s Meadows Music Theatre. On this Memorial Day weekend, Connecticut DMB fans leave both shows on top of the world.

This weekend marked a special weekend for the Dave Matthews Band. Long time band friend and producer of the bands most acclaimed albums, Steve Lillywhite, made a trip to Hartford to enjoy the band in the wild... beyond the studio.  Dave Matthews mentioned between songs several times that they were excited to have Steve at the show, playing several songs in his honor.

Recently DMB announced that they would be stepping back into the studio with producer Steve Lillywhite after a 14 year hiatus. Some songs have been finalized making their way into the set lists at Hartford this weekend.

Set lists were diverse and each song played thoroughly, no corners cut. Very few could argue the epic-ness of the night two encore. DMB pulled all stops playing a once solo Dave Matthews song "Save Me" as the first song of the night two encore. The song ends, the lights dim and drummer Carter Beauford is left in the spotlight for a drum solo that to DMB fans doing the math, could mean only one thing. The band was finally, after 33 shows in Hartford, going to play Halloween! A rarity and a fan favorite closer of any set. They did this with great emotion and intensity leaving the audience stunned. However after a mid song guitar change there was a chance for one more. With that said the band the gracefully transitioned into an uplifting full figured song "Tripping Billies" ending arguably one of the best DMB weekends in Hartford’s history.
