The cast features many new faces to TheatreWorks, and a few familiar ones. But they all have one thing in common: they’re great at their craft.

The cast is comprised of Elizabeth Talbot as Corie Bratter, Daniel Willey as Paul Bratter, Jeff Savage as The Delivery Man, M.J. Hartell as Ethel Banks, Jonathan Ross as The Telephone Repairman, and Kevin Sosbe as Victor Velasco. The show is under the direction of Tom Libonate.

In this classic, comedic romp, newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter are proof positive that opposites attract. He’s a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer; she’s a free spirit. But they quickly discover married life is no paradise, having to endure a new apartment that’s falling to pieces, surprise visits from Corie’s overly protective mother, and the antics of their eccentric neighbor-in-the-attic, Velasco. Paul doesn’t understand Corie’s impulsiveness, while she wants him to be more spontaneous. Maybe running “barefoot in the park” would be a start? This Tony Award-winner went on to become iconic playwright Neil Simon’s first and longest running theatrical hit when it premiered 50 years ago.

CORIE BRATTER (20 – 35)
A carefree young newlywed. A free spirit, bubbling with energy who easily throws caution into the wind.

PAUL BRATTER (20 – 35)
Corie’s husband, a young lawyer with a dry wit who likes to stay in his comfort zone. The ying to Corie’s yang.

ETHEL BANKS (45 – 65)
Corie’s cautious mother who is willing to endure anything for her daughter. Conservative, but not too stuffy.

VICTOR VELASCO (45 – 65)
The Bratters’ eccentric, bohemian neighbor who has a zest for life despite his age. Basically a good guy, but enjoys coming off as a “Don Juan” type.

THE TELEPHONE REPAIR MAN (35 – 60)
A good-humored man who makes observations on everyday life. Must have great comic delivery and timing.

THE DELIVERY MAN (60 – 80)
An older man who brings wedding gifts sent to the Bratters. Great comic presence a must.
