Auditions Announced for 'The Underpants' at Phoenix Stage Company

AUDITIONS! THE UNDERPANTS!

The renowned comic actor and author of Picasso at the Lapine Agile provides a wild satire adapted from the classic German play about Louise and Theo Markes, a couple whose conservative exis-tence is shattered when Louise’s bloomers fall down in public.

Though she pulls them up quickly, he thinks the incident will cost him his job as a government clerk. Louise’s momentary display does not result in the feared scandal but it does attract two in-fatuated men, each of whom wants to rent the spare room in the Markes’ home.

We are seeking 4 men and 2 women for this very funny production being directed by Tim Phillips.

Theo Maske: A burly, muscular fire plug with a buzz cut

Louise Maske: Very pretty, mid twenties, Theo’s wife

Gertrude Deuter: Forty-two, and a busy-body.

Benjamin Cohen: Sickly, thin, asthmatic.

Klinglehoff: An elderly man.

Auditions are Sunday April 6th and April 7th from 7 to 9 pm – no appointment necessary – come on down and have some fun with us!
