Author Mother Dolores Hart Coming to Waterbury

A portion of the Book Fair on Sept. 7 will help to support The Gary-The Olivia Theater in Bethlehem

The Abbey of Regina Laudis and Barnes & Noble on Union Street, Waterbury have joined forces to have a meet & greet style book signing with Mother Dolores Hart, O.S.B., author of The Ear of the Heart: An Actress’ Journey from Hollywood to Holy Vows. Join them on Saturday September 7th at 2:00p at Barnes & Noble in the Brass Mill Commons. The Ear of the Heart will be available for purchase that day.

Using the stage name of 'Dolores Hart' in 1956 she was signed to play a supporting role as the love interest to Elvis Presley in the 1957 film Loving You. After this appearance, Hart found herself in frequent demand, and she made two more films before playing with Presley again in 1958's King Creole. The 24-year-old actress became a Roman Catholic nun at the Benedictine Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, Connecticut where she is now Prioress.

Saturday September 7th is also a fundraising day at Barnes & Noble Waterbury for The Gary-The Olivia Theater at the Abbey. Customers are encouraged to buy their books that day and let cashiers know that they are supporting the Book Fair. A portion of all Book Fair supporter sales will go towards The Gary-The Olivia. All purchases from Books & Nooks to food & drinks in the Café are eligible Book Fair purchases. Book Fair support costs you nothing extra and helps the theater at the Abbey continue their amazing performances.

Reservations for a copy to purchase that day can be made by calling the store directly or at www.bn.com. For additional information on these and other Barnes & Noble events in Waterbury, contact Robin Masiewicz, Assistant Store Manager at 203175917125 or crm2893@bn.com.
