Naugatuck Schools Closed Tuesday, Feb. 12

Cleanup from the blizzard is ongoing

Naugatuck Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 due to ongoing cleanup efforts from the winter snow storm.

Mayor Mezzo posted this message on his blog late Monday afternoon:

Naugatuck Schools will be closed on Tuesday (2/12/2013) as we continue to clear roads in the aftermath of Blizzard Charlotte a/k/a Nemo.  The decision was just announced by school officials, and reported to our Emergency Operations Center.

This will be the seventh snow day for the borough's schools this year. Many elementary students were looking forward to celebrating the 100th Day in School last Friday. This milestone will now be marked on the next school day, whenever that may be.

Naugatuck was hit with 30 inches of snow and it's going to take days before all of the snow will be cleared.

Naugatuck Patch will keep you posted about snow days for the rest of the week as soon as we hear about them.

The NHS Chamber Singers Pre-Tour Concert scheduled for Tuesday evening at the Congregational Church has been cancelled, but the students will still be heading to Italy on Thursday.
