Preview of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' Feb 1 - 10 at the Warner

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat opens Feb 1 at the Warner Theatre

Torrington, CT – The Warner Stage Company will present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat February 1 – 10 at the Warner Theatre.

Based on the "coat of many colors" story of Joseph from the Bible's Book of Genesis, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat was Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice’s first musical to be performed publicly. Written originally as a musical for a children's day school, it has become one of the most performed musicals of all time.

In this retelling of the Biblical story, Joseph (played by the terrific Moses Beckett) is a handsome young man who is his father's favorite child, able to interpret dreams, and the bearer of an amazing coat. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged.

Its family-friendly storyline, universal themes and engaging soundtrack that includes musical genres ranging from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.

The Warner Stage Company production is directed by Foster Evans Reese with musical director Dan Porri. The cast includes: Alyssa Fontana as the narrator, John Chenkus as Jacob and John Quinn, Marcelo Sousa, Richard Damaso, Michael Dikegoros, Michael Eck, Peter Hannon, Bret Bisaillon, James Barber, Joel Orelup, Jean-Paul Henares and Kyrell Clemons as Joseph’s jealous brothers.

To go along with this family friendly story, the Warner Theatre has announced Family Friendly Pricing for this production. Children 14 and under get 50% off their ticket price in select seats!

Tickets are $20 / $26 / $33.50 and can be purchased by calling the Warner box office at 860-489-7180 or online at www.warnertheatre.org.
