Preview of Naugatuck Community Choir Winter Concert 2012

The NCC will sing a number of selections from concerts spanning the 15 years of their existence.

There will be two chances to experience the Naugatuck Community Choir's annual winter concert. The first concert will be Friday, December 14, 7:30 p.m. at St Francis-Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin Street, Waterbury. The second performance will be Sunday, December 16, 3:00 p.m. at Naugatuck. They will sing a number of selections from concerts spanning the 15 years of their existence. Snow date for the Dec. 16 concert is December 23 at St. Hedwig. The choir will be singing:

Mary’s Boy Child – Jester Hairston

            Solos: Chris Caserio – baritone,

                      Christine Michel, Jessica Barber - sopranos

Variations on FA-LA-LA (arr. Chuck Bridwell)

Sleigh Ride – Anderson/Parish (arr. Michael Edwards)

Go Tell It On The Mountain (arr. Howard Helvey)

            Solo: Rosemary Westhaver - tenor

Gesu Bambino – Pietro Yon

            Solos: Jessica Barber, Debbie Ricard - sopranos

Selections from “Messiah” – George Frederic Handel

            And The Glory Of The Lord

            And He Shall Purify

            For Unto Us A Child Is Born

The choir is under the direction of Mark Silva. The concerts are free and open to the public, and free will offerings are gratefully accepted.

I wholeheartedly agree with Eric. I am thinking of taking my account to a different bank in protest.Read More (NAUGATUCK Savings & Loan perhaps) May sound silly to some, but in my opinion, changing the name of such an historic institution to me is blasphemous, not to mention sounding stupid. ION indeed!
