Next To Normal  with book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt, explores how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness.

Next to Normal is an electrifying contemporary rock musical about a suburban mom’s struggle with bipolar disorder and her family’s heroic efforts to hold it all together. It is an emotional, funny, and ultimately hopeful musical that aims straight for the heart. Next To Normal is an emotional powerhouse that addresses such issues as grieving a loss, ethics in modern psychiatry, and suburban life.
