Preview of One Act Play Festival at the Phoenix Stage Company

Plays selected from over 600 submissions will be presented in May.

Four days of original One Act Plays from around the world will be presented at the Phoenix Stage Company in Naugatuck.

After receiving 621 entries from across the United States, the UK, Scotland, Japan, Russia, France and Uzbekistan, the Phoenix Stage Company reading committees have selected a small number of scripts to be performed over four days in May. Plays ranging in length from ten to 30 minutes, comedies, dramas and farces will be performed in this hosted event.

The plays selected for the May 2013 One Act Play Festival include the work of playwrights from throughout the United States. Founding partner of the Phoenix Stage Company Ed Bassett stated that some of the authors of the selected plays will be traveling to Naugatuck to attend the performance of their work. "The plays that got the top ratings from the reading committee will be performed again at the Sunday matinee," said Mr. Bassett.
