Preview of 'Verdi's Otello' at the Warner Theatre

A pre broadcast lecture by Dr. Marguerite Mullée for Otello patrons will begin at 11 am.

Torrington, CT – On Saturday, October 27 at 1pm, the Warner Theatre will present a live simulcast of Verdi’s Otello as part of The Met: Live in HD series.

Renée Fleming sings one of her greatest roles as the innocent Desdemona in Verdi’s towering tragedy Otello. South African tenor Johan Botha sings the title role, one of the most demanding parts in the operatic repertory, with German baritone Falk Struckmann as the treacherous villain Iago. Rising American tenor Michael Fabiano makes his Live in HD debut as Cassio. Maestro Semyon Bychkov conducts Verdi’s dramatic masterpiece, which is based on Shakespeare’s play. Soprano Sondra Radvanovsky, one of the Met’s leading Verdi stars, hosts the transmission and conducts backstage interviews with the stars.


A pre broadcast lecture by Dr. Marguerite Mullée for Otello patrons will begin at 11 am. Dr. Mullée is a graduate of Columbia University where she earned a doctorate in Conducting and Vocal Pedagogy. Dr. Mullée is the Music Director at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Litchfield CT, as well as Professor of Music at Gateway Community College in New Haven CT and serves as the Music Director at Our Lady of Grace Monastery. Noted for her pre-concert lectures; she has recently started a successful lecture series on the development of music.

I am thinking of taking my account to a different bank in protest.Read More (NAUGATUCK Savings & Loan perhaps) May sound silly to some, but in my opinion, changing the name of such an historic institution to me is blasphemous, not to mention sounding stupid. ION indeed!
