Preview of 'Vignettes of An I-talian American Girl' Returns to Seven Angels

Number 2 in my Top Ten Plays of 2012! Waterbury's Maria Baratta returns to Seven Angels Theatre with her one woman hit show, 'Vignettes of an I-talian American Girl' January 12-20.

MARIA BARATTA IS BACK  AT SEVEN ANGELS THEATRE IN VIGNETTES OF AN I-TALIAN AMERICAN GIRL

Seven Angels Theatre is thrilled to bring Waterbury native  Maria Baratta back with her hit play Vignettes of an I-talian American Girl  January 12-20. The one woman show features a goody-goody Italian American girl as she clashes with her rebellious younger sister, and through a twist of fate reveals that there is more to La Famiglia than the Sopranos, cannolis, and guns. A one-woman show sautéed with garlic and caramelized with humor! If you missed the show when it made it’s Connecticut premiere at Seven Angels in 2012, this is your chance to see this moving show that will make you laugh and cry. I thought it was great.

This is what the press had to say about Vignettes and Maria…

“is a master at conjuring up the many family members who had a hand in her coming of age, all of them hell-bent on teaching her the rules of Italian Catholic propriety....well-acted, well-staged, and engaging....palpable - and affecting.  An entertaining and at times moving chronicle, Vignettes reminds us that barriers to assimilation come from both within and without." - theateriseasy.com

"You will love it...being the gem of the play, the cultural aspects of "Vignettes..." is colorful and humorous.  With Baratta's incredible acting skills....she has an expressive face that tells us more than words  can possibly reveal, and the way she represents the character engages the audience." - reviewfix.com

"Baratta moves from character to character......she is a very gifted performer and what she shares with the audience is more than just a look into her life and experiences but more like a glimpse into her soul......Baratta’s performance is moving at times and hilarious at others."- nytheatre.com
