A Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation took place at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Friday night. The Most Reverend Peter A. Rosazza, an auxiliary Bishop of Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Hartford, was the celebrant and the 49 candidates are members of Naugatuck's St. Francis, St. Hedwig and St. Mary Church.
The Mass was concelebrated by Rev. John Kuzhikottayil, the Pastor of St. Francis and Rev. Eugene Kotlinski, the Pastor of St. Hedwig and St. Mary. The Confirmation Directors were Jessica Mulligan, D.R.E at St. Francis, Sue Plaskon, D.R.E at St. Hedwig and Marie Elderkin, D.R.E. at St. Mary. The Confirmation Teachers included Joan Allen, Mingo Branco, and Ms. Elderkin.
Bishop Rosazza spoke to the teens during his homily about the anniversary of the death of President Kennedy and his efforts to maintain peace during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

The newly confirmed teens from St. Francis include Megan Bari, Alyssa Barry, Jennifer Bastos, Sierra Batista, Jacquelyn Brouillette, Sarah Bruneau, Brittany Burkman, Emily Buza, Alex Caruso, Cameron Caulfield, William Chockey, Sarah Cook, Elizabeth Crabtree, Colton Cronin, Ivan Glorioso, Adrianna Guerrera, Ethan Harvey, Kaitlin Jando, Madison Jensen, Ryan Lafo, Jared Main, Gregory Marquardt, Sara Marques, Zachary Mason, Alexander Matos, Theresa Montoni, Stephen Moody, Jillian Mulligan, Veronica Noss, Joseph Pruchnicki, Lauren Reilly, Mary Reilly, Ashely Roberts, Jesse Roberts, Samantha Rodriguez, Megan Schebell, Philip Sharp, Jaycob Sousa, Anastacia Teixeira, Julia Williams, Jessica Williams and Alexander Witkowski.
Students from St. Hedwig include Rebecca Anderson, Alexa Blazas, Christian Janis, Amanda Morales and Stephanie Richard.
