Naugatuck High School Band Heads to France

I will be adding additional photos as they become available.

Band parent Mary McNulty posted the following information in the Town Square on Friday:

"Members of the Naugatuck High School band program departed for Gisors, France today accompanied by Robert Hughes, Director of Bands and other staff/parent chaperones. NHS Band hosted several students and staff from Louise Michel High School for a week last April and today's departure is the second half of the exchange program.

While in France, the NHS band members will be performing several concerts as well as attending school with their French hosts. In addition, students will have many sight seeing opportunities. Gisors is located in the Northwest of France in the Normandy region. Students will spend a day at the beaches of Normandy participating in a reenactment of the battle fought there during WWII. At the end of their stay the group will be spending a day in Paris."

The NHS Band Twitter feed included this message on Saturday: "Amazing first day in France. Very warm welcome in Gisors. Great food and wonderful companionship. Bedtime. Early to rise for tomorrow."

On Tuesday, Tina McSweeney posted this with her photos:
"Took a long drive to visit the American and German cemeteries in Normandy today. Also visited Utah Beach and museum. Wish we had more time to see more areas while we were there."
