Naugatuck High School Marching Band to Compete in USBands New England States Championship on Saturday [UPDATED]

UPDATE:

The Naugatuck High School Marching Band came in fourth place in their 3 Open category last night at the New England States Championship in Bridgeport. The Greyhounds earned a score of 85.763 and won Best Guard in their class. King Philip Regional HS from Massachusettes took first place in 3 Open with a score of 92.025 and swept the rest of the caption awards. Other CT schools in this group included Norwich Free Academy, which took third place, Rockville HS that came in fifth and Danbury HS that took seventh place.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, the Naugatuck High School Marching Band will compete in the USBands New England States Championship.

The competition attracts bands from high schools and colleges from all over Connecticut, as well as New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. It will be held at John F. Kennedy Stadium, 1 Lincoln Blvd. in Bridgeport and will begin at 10:30am and run until 11:00pm. The Greyhounds are scheduled to take the field at approximately 7:26pm.

Naugy will face six other bands in their division of 3 Open. Forty-four units will compete in all.
