Naugy pride falls to Manchester in CT Cup/ Defeats Ansonia in Friendly
Last Saturday, Naugy Pride traveled to Manchester for their 2nd round game in the CT Cup. Naugy came out pretty flat but held their own in the first half. The majority of the first half was played in Naugy's half and Manchester scored the games only goal about 25 minutes into the 1st half off a beautiful corner kick and header that beat Naugy goalie Ryan Galiette for the 1-0 lead. Naugy had a number of chances in the second half, playing most of it in Manchester's half of the field. With the loss, Naugy was eliminated, but their season is far from over.
Last night Naugy took on Ansonia at Maple Hill School. This game was a friendly as the Ansonia team is a U12 Travel Rec team. Naugy defeated Ansonia 5-4. Scoring for Naugy were Tyler Timlen (2), Jay Barth, Ryan Galiette and scoring his first goal for the Pride was Bailey Ceryak. Tyler Ranno contributed with two assists and Chris Akinduro, Chad Mahler and Simon Carvalho all played well in the win.
Naugy next takes on West Haven on Sunday at 4pm in a League game at Maple Hill School.
