I was heading across my son's yard and happened to look down, so glad I did...I would have stepped on this little guy. I kept him for about an hour as a thunderstorm was coming. I let him go shortly after the storm and unbelievably about an hour later the same thing happened, almost stepped on him. I took him over by the garden, higher ground and lots of worms and bugs there for him to eat. He is just so adorable, I had no idea DeKays (or brown snake) were so small at birth. I know they are one of the snakes to give live birth and can have a few to as many as 50 or more.....I must keep my eyes to the ground out there for a while.
