Former Owner of Androphy’s Furniture and Appliances Passes at 89

Brunch for friends and family scheduled for Sunday morning in Waterbury.

Leonard Androphy, loving father and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the age of 89 years. He was the wife of Iris (Kahan) Androphy and the late Asnah (Atkins) Androphy.

Leonard was a former owner of Androphy’s Furniture and Appliances in Naugatuck. He raised his family in Waterbury.

Bsides his wife, Iris, he leaves his children and grandchildren,  Joel and Sheryl Androphy of Houston, Texas and grandchildren Daniel and Robyn; Doctors Jay and Robyn Androphy of St. Louis, Missouri and grandchildren David and Dawn; and Dr. Gary and Karen Androphy of Chicago, Illinois.

Family and friends are invited to join the Androphy Family at a brunch at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the Marriott Courtyard Waterbury Downtown Hotel, 63 Grand Street, Waterbury, Connecticut, 06702.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 13, at 1 p.m., following the brunch, at the Hebrew Benefit Cemetery, Stillson Road, Waterbury. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. is assisting with all the arrangements.
