Obituary: Alice M. Ratkiewich, 100, of Prospect

She lived in Prospect since 1958 and prior in Union City, Naugatuck. She graduated from Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Waterbury Hospital.

 

PROSPECT – Mrs. Alice M. Ratkiewich, 100, of Prospect, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at Glendale Health Center.  She was the widow of Thomas V.Ratkiewich.

Mrs. Ratkiewich was born in Union City on May 3, 1912, a daughter of the late Chester and Emma (Detlefsen) Hanks.  She lived in Prospect since 1958 and prior in Union City.  She graduated from Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Waterbury Hospital.

She leaves her son, Richard Ratkiewich of Prospect.  She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Hanks.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 28 at 10am at St. Anthony Church, Prospect.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.  There are no calling hours.  The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck has been entrusted with her arrangements.  To send an on-line condolence, please visit www.naugatuckvalleymemorial.com.
