Obituary: Catherine C. Kisielewski, 99, of Naugatuck

She was a communicant of St. Hedwig Church and a past member of its Ladies Guild.

 

Mrs. Catherine C. (Swinik) Kisielewski, 99, of Naugatuck, passed away at Beacon Brook Health Center on Thursday December 20, 2012.

Born on August 23, 1913 and raised in Derby, CT, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Sophie (Cislo) Swinik.  Catherine was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Stanley Kisielewski; brothers, Mitchell, Joseph, and Henry Swinik; sisters, Josephine Larson, Mary Gemski, Florence Swirski, Gladys Krilivsky, and Sophie Kenny; nephews, Joseph Gemski, Clifford Swirski, and Peter Giordino; a special brother-in-law, Leo Kisielewski; and her dogs, King, Bolec, Blackie, Sheppy, and Misty.

Always industrious, Catherine started her working career in her teens as a domestic in Griffin Hospital, and then worked at the former Steel Prest Company in Shelton.  After moving to Naugatuck, she worked at Peter Paul Mounds, Naugatuck Rubber, and Lewis Engineering.  She was a communicant of St. Hedwig Church and a past member of its Ladies Guild.  Cioci Kay always relished her times with and recollections of family and in-laws.

Left to cherish the memories of her are her caretaker and nephew, David, and dozens of devoted nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Friday December 28 at 10:30am from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck to St. Hedwig Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.  Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9-10:30am.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis-St. Hedwig School, 294 Church Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770 or to St. Hedwig Church, 32 Golden Hill Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770.  To send an on-line condolence, please visitwww.naugatuckvalleymemorial.com.
