Obituary: Edward J. Miller, 62

Longtime public servant in Prospect.

Mr. Edward J. Miller, age 62, died unexpectedly on Sunday Aug. 19, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital.

Mr. Miller was born in Waterbury on January 12,1950 son of the late Henry and Mary (Capristo) Miller. He was a business owner in Wolcott and a communicant of St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Prospect. He was a former member of the Prospect Town Council, former member of the Prospect Economic Development Commission, former member of the Prospect Board of Assessment Appeals, former Chairman of the Prospect Planning and Zoning Commission, Past President of the Prospect Chamber of Commerce, member and Past President of the Prospect Jaycees, and a member of the Elks Lodge. He was an avid animal lover. Most importantly, Ed cherished the time that he spent with his grandchildren.

Mr. Miller is survived by two daughters, Stacey Gardner and her husband David of Southbury and Melissa Miller of Danbury, two sisters, Susan Dommu of Waterbury and Gail Miller of Waterbury, two grandchildren, Olivia Gardner and Cameron Gardner, his former wife, Donna L. (Krin) Miller of Prospect and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass wil be held on Wednesday August 22,2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Roman catholic Church 4 Union City Rd. Prospect. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St.James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday August 21,2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home 26 Waterbury Rd. Route 69 Prospect.
