Obituary: Eileen S. Squires Dies at 67

The following obituary was provided by Naugatuck Valley Memorial Funeral Home.

NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Eileen A. (Hunt) Squires, age 67, passed away on Monday March 12, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her family. She was wife of Arthur “Skip” Squires.

She was born in Pittston, Pa., on December 24, 1944, daughter of the late Thomas A. and Helen (McDonnell) Hunt. Eileen had lived most of her life in Naugatuck and she was a graduate of Class of 1962. She retired from Waterbury Hospital after many years of service.

She was active in her community. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1946 where she had served as District President from 1998-1999. She was a member of the American Legion, Kollege Kapers, Naugatuck Women’s Club and the Red Hat Society. A special “thank you’ goes to the staff at Paradigm Health Care of Prospect for the special care given to Eileen.

Besides her husband of 18 years, she leaves a daughter, Rayleen (Capaldo) Rinaldi of Fort Myers, Fla.; a stepson Gary Squires of North Canaan; three stepdaughters, Kimberly Lemoine and her husband Rick of Thomaston, Laurie Squires of Terryville, Samantha Squires of Cheshire; a brother, Thomas Hunt and his wife Diane of Naugatuck; a sister, Mary Bulkovitch and her husband Richard of Middlebury, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Neil O’Donovan and a sister Ann Dyson Jannetty.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday March 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at  the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
