Obituary: Kimberly Ann Matan, 49, of Naugatuck

She will always be remembered for her kind heart, caring and giving nature and bright smile.

NAUGATUCK – Kimberly Ann Matan, 49, of Naugatuck, unexpectedly passed away at her home on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013. Kim was born in Waterbury on May 9, 1964. She was a lifelong resident of Naugatuck and a graduate of Naugatuck High School. She worked at the deli in Stop & Shop and most recently at Big Y Supermarket.

Kim will always be remembered by all who knew and loved her for her kind heart, caring and giving nature, and bright smile.  She was an avid Yankee fan and her love of animals was unsurpassed. She is survived by her mother, Nancy Rossi of Naugatuck; her father, Thomas Matan and his wife Cece of Beacon Falls; her brothers, Elio and Thomas Matan both of Naugatuck; her uncles and aunts, Frank and Teddy Matan of Naugatuck, Ursula Rossi of Prospect, Roz and Leslie Rossi of Naples, Fla., Donna and Bud Shea of Prospect; and her many cousins.  She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Frank and Ann Matan; maternal grandparents, Al and Rose Rossi. Services for Kim will be held at a future date and time to be announced.
