Obituary: Lois M. Borsos, 74, of Naugatuck

Mrs. Borsos was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

 

NAUGATUCK – Mrs. Lois M. (Swanson) Borsos, age 74, passed away on October 3, 2012 at Glendale Health Center after a long battle with cancer.  She was the devoted wife of Joseph M. Borsos. Mrs. Borsos was born in Waterbury, CT on January 24, 1938, daughter of the late Elton and Josephine (Niski) Swanson.  She was a longtime Naugatuck resident, and she retired as treasurer from Risdon Employees Federal Credit Union after many years of service.  Lois enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, going on family vacations, duckpin bowling, cake decorating, and craft projects.  She was also a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi.

Besides her husband of 55 years, she leaves two daughters and three grandchildren – Dr. Karen Borsos-Debs, husband Joseph, and daughter Jessica of Milford, and Deborah Urbano, husband James, and sons Joseph and Matthew of Cheshire.  She is also survived by her sister Lorraine Brown and husband Richard of Middlebury, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 6 at 9am at St. Francis of Assisi Church.  Friends are asked to meet directly at the church for 8:45am.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery,Cross Street, Naugatuck.  Calling hours will be held at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck on Friday evening from 5-7pm.
